You may be taking fewer trips this summer, but that doesn’t mean you can’t reap the benefits of total relaxation right where you are.
The key is to learn how to disengage from daily stress. Rule number one: Unplug yourself from the office. Experts say we’ve become so obsessed with being “on” that we’ve lost the ability to turn ourselves off.
The solution: “Each night, set aside 30 minutes for e-mail. When the time’s up, turn off your device and put it out of sight,” says Katherine Muller, Psy. D. Just don’t schedule your catch-up session for right before bed—it will make the transition to sleep mode tough.
