Your pre-workout meal can either energize you for an hour at the gym, or leave you passed out on the couch before the dishes are done.
Grocery-store shelves are crammed with bars, shakes, powders, and other goop marketed to give you energy when you need it most. Sure, prepackaged fitness snacks are easy to tote and store, but in some instances, real food can be more nutritious—and just as fast.
